Greetings, members! We hope your A/C is keeping up with the last of Florida’s summer heat. Here’s what’s new at Momentum Fitness.
We have exciting changes still in development, and one of those will be replacing the door reader at the main gym front door. While we wait on the new door reader to get installed, we want to remind everyone of three things:
When swiping your keycard, the door may or may not buzz to let you know it’s unlocked. Do not listen for a sound because there may not be one!
Don’t rush to the door. Grab the handle too quickly and the door may not have unlocked yet. It usually takes one Mississippi-sized second to unlock.
And in true Goldilocks fashion, don’t take too long to pull the handle. A keycard swipe releases the lock for about 2 seconds. If you take too long, the door locks again.
That being said, there will be some cases where your keycard truly isn’t working, such as when your credit card on file needs updating. If you suspect your account is not in order and keeping you from accessing the gym, reach out to us. You should also have an email in your inbox (possibly spam folder) alerting you of any account issues.
It has come to our attention that our software system’s automated emails do not fully describe the charges assessed to your payment method. We are working with MindBody to see if they can fix the issue.
In the meantime, you may see a charge that is your monthly membership fee plus the membership’s annual fee, which is incorrectly described in the email you receive as only being for your monthly autopay. If the charge is for $74.99, that’s the 39.99 monthly plus 35.00 annual. If the charge is for $189.99, that’s the 114.99 monthly plus 75.00 annual.
You can also view your purchase history for more details at any time by logging into our dedicated MindBody website, then navigating to My Info > Purchase History.

Finally, we are trying to make these system upgrades as painless as possible, but technology can be feisty and things can break. Don’t panic! If something is confusing you or simply not behaving properly, reach out to us and let us know. System upgrades are massive and guaranteed to be bumpy.
